We believe that pet photography should be made with the same eye to creativity and quality as great human portraiture. We take the time, effort, care and creative vision to make photographic art of your pet that will bring a tear to your eye and joy to your heart the moment you first see it, and for years to come.
You know that pose, the one you see all over Instagram with a pooch sitting and looking up (sort of toward the camera) at a treat. No more (please)! Over the years I and my assistants have developed techniques to guide your pooch toward the pose or expression we want, but in a way that looks natural because it is natural. And, regardless of whether in the studio, your house, a Washington DC landmark, a Los Angeles beach or another favorite location, we compose and light each shot meticulously, and we edit and process images to a creative vision that we plan with you. Action, posed and family shots—we treat them all as art.
We are not like many pet photographers who show up, shoot hundreds of pics, bulk edit half of those and deliver digital files of 50 or 75 or however many of those. We are not interested in any of that. We are, however, interested in making photographic art with you and your pet. And our clients are not like their clients. Our clients are much more interested in picking a few extra special creative pieces to display proudly. We love dogs (kitties too!) and we love photography. As important both I and my assistants have expertise with both.
We value photography that will be displayed in your home and office, not just shared on social media or on your phone. We do provide complimentary digitals of all display art that you purchase, but our focus is on the printed pieces. Our work with you is geared not just to capture beautiful shots, but to transform them into stunning photographic art starring your pet—art you will be proud to display and will treasure forever. Our session fee of $185 is your entry to create the imagery that we will then frame or mount for wall or table art, boxed sets or books.
